Johnson O’Connor is a regional Public Accounting Firm located outside of Boston in Wakefield, MA. We are seeking an Experienced Audit Manager with 7-10 years of public accounting experience who is interested in participating in their own career growth and work with a diverse client base to join our team.

The Experienced Audit Manager is responsible for all areas of an attest engagement, including planning, execution, supervision, and completion. The Experienced Audit Manager supervises staff and senior accountants and is responsible for managing their engagement team to ensure that deliverables are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Additionally, the Experienced Audit Manager is tasked with the timely review of workpapers to ensure quality control standards are met within budgeted parameters.

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and analytical skills, as well as audit experience. Whereas national firms tend to be compartmentalized, our firm offers the successful candidate the ability to service all aspects of our clients’ business and see client engagements from start to finish, thus becoming a valued advisor to clients.

The Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage all aspects of client attest services, including audits, reviews, compilations and agreed-upon procedures engagements in a multitude of industries
  • Demonstrate proficient technical skills for handling client assignments, including generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS), generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), etc.
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients
  • Ensure the Firm’s high standards of quality are met or exceeded
  • Leverage staff to achieve deadlines and manage budgets
  • Establish and maintain a leadership role within the Firm
  • Provide training and coaching to new and existing staff as needed

The Job-Essential Requirements Are:

  • 7-10 years of public accounting experience
  • CPA required
  • Ability to plan, supervise and complete attest engagements
  • Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Commitment to exceptional client service
  • Intellectually curious
  • Flexible, self-starter personality whose personal values coincide with JO’s Core values (Respect, Integrity, Teamwork & Excellence)
